Today marks the first day of “Public Service Recognition Week.” Donald Trump is thanking federal employees for their service by freezing wage increases and gutting $143.5 billion of their retirement benefits.

Administration wants “to bring Federal benefits more in line with the private sector” for 2.6 million retirees and survivors.

I retired from the Federal Government in 2015 and from 2011 to 2014 Congress refused to give Federal workers, even get a simple cost of living increase – in 2015 we got 1% – when you consider inflation, which between 2011-14 amounted to approximately 6% – that’s a reduction of 5% in wages – The Republican party is truly a destructive force

  2. We will lose everything mentioned in this article. Hubby Federal Firefighter, lost pay every time government shut down and most not gotten back. I worked for Department of Defense, wages were stagnant. Seldom got cost of living raises. Most wages in all sectors were stagnant since 1973.
    Rump and REPUBS destroying this country. We paid into these retirement systems like Social Security, Medicare, FERS….We served the Military, we served their dependents, we served our country.
