Donald Trump Jr. corresponded with Wikileaks’ Julian Assange during and after the 2016 presidential campaign. Messages back and forth included coordinating their efforts to attack Hillary Clinton in the media. If you recall, October 10, 2016, Donald Trump proclaimed on air, “I love Wikileaks!” Wikileaks was responsible for releasing Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager’s emails, among other things. Before anyone claims fake news, these messages were turned over by Junior’s lawyers.
The transparency organization asked the president’s son for his cooperation—in sharing its work, in contesting the results of the election, and in arranging for Julian Assange to be Australia’s ambassador to the United States.
