Army lifts ban on recruits with history of self-mutilation, other mental health issues

Trump and Republicans blame mass shootings solely on mental illness, yet his administration has decided to allow severely mentally ill people into the US Army, including those with histories of self-mutilation, bipolar disorder, depression and substance abuse. At the same time, Trump and Republicans are trying to end access to mental health services by trying to repeal Obamacare/ACA and cutting funding to help people sign up for healthcare coverage.

The ban had barred the Army from accepting soldiers with a history of self-mutilation, bipolar disorder, depression and drug and alcohol abuse.
