WATCH: Lawrence Crosby, a PhD student at Northwestern University was brutally beaten by police for fixing his own car. A woman passing by called 911 to report a break-in. When police arrived, he tried to explain when he was tackled and beaten by 5 officers. Crosby cooperated throughout the beating. After confirming his story, police arrested him for disobeying and resisting arrest. A judge threw out the charges. Officers were never disciplined. Evanston PD still defends their actions. Crosby has filed a civil lawsuit.
As the officers kneed and kicked him, Lawrence Crosby said the car was his and that he had proof of ownership in the car.
