Police who abuse or kill citizens are often given severance deals so they can join police departments in other cities. The City of St. Anthony, Minnesota fired Jeronimo Yanez, the officer who murdered Philando Castile, the day he was acquitted of charges by a jury. They released a statement saying they offered him “a voluntary separation agreement to help him transition to another career other than being a St. Anthony officer.” That means he can go be a murdering cop in another city.
