Republicans claim that since Congressman Steve Scalise was shot, his policies don’t matter, but the gay, married, black police officer who was also shot saving his life wouldn’t have any rights if it were up to him. Scalise calls himself, “David Duke without the baggage,” (Duke was the Grand Wizard of the KKK) and even gave a speech at an international conference for white supremacists. He’s extremely anti-LGBTQ and authored Louisiana’s ban on same-sex marriage. The man makes hateful discriminatory laws that affect millions of people. It matters.
