Mississippi lawmaker calls for lynchings after removal of Confederate symbols

Republican Mississippi state representative Karl Oliver posted on Facebook Saturday that people calling for confederate statues or “our history” as he put it, to be removed “should be LYNCHED.” Oliver’s statement is not without direct historical precedent–his district is notorious for one of the most heinous lynchings of a black child during the 50’s. This asshole needs to resign. Where is the mainstream media on this?
